Details: Should play on most multi-region DVD players in NTSC regions 1983 All Ireland Football Semi-final Dublin v Cork (Draw and Replay) In the Leinster Final of 83 Dublin defeated reigning All Ireland champions Offaly, who had that infamous All Ireland win against Kerry in 1982. This was the background to a semi-final clash with Cork, who had also staged a surprise by dethroning Kerry in the Munster final. So with both of last years finalists eliminated the All Ireland title was up for grabs and added spice to this semi-final clash. On August 21st in Croke Park Dublin salvaged a draw thanks to a very late injury time goal from Barney Rock and one week later the Dubs and their army of fans streamed to Pirc U Chaoimhfor a replay in the summer heat. Dublin had Brian Mullins, Barney Rock and a young Joe McNally facing up to Cork stars like Jimmy Kerrigan, Dave Barry and Dinny Allen. Two matches full of drama and excitement. Drawn game: Dublin 2-11 Cork 2-11 Replay: Dublin 4-12: Cork 2-10 1983 All Ireland Football Final Its the second year running that an All-Ireland final will go down in history, this time for controversial reasons. By the time busy referee John Gough whistles the end to this final, hell have ordered off four players. Dublin are in a first final for four years after a celebrated semi-final replay down in Cork, against the home county surprise conquerors of Kerry in the last minute of the Munster final. Galway have to go back over 40 years for a last championship win over Dublin but are confident going into this. Calm before the storm. Dublin 1-10: Galway 1-08
