Details: The pre-Congress Symposium of Theology, which is a feature of every International Eucharistic Congress, was hosted in 2012 by the theology faculty of the Pontifical University of Maynooth and supported by the President of the university. The opening address was a rich overview of, and reflection on, the ecclesiology of communion given by His Eminence, Marc Cardinal Ouellet, Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops. Particularly significant was the full day dedicated to ecumenism, with Cardinal Kurt Koch providing the keynote address.
